Quando usamos a tabuada, estamos aprendendo justamente a somar parcelas iguais. Por exemplo, se temos 2 + 2 + 2 + 2, podemos escrever isso de um jeito mais curto: 4 \u00d7 2 = 8. Esses n\u00fameros aparecem em v\u00e1rias situa\u00e7\u00f5es do dia a dia. Pense, por exemplo, em um pacote com 4 bombons em cada fileira. Se houver 3 fileiras, temos 3 \u00d7 4 = 12 bombons. Imagine 2 fileiras com 4 bolas em cada uma. Podemos contar todas as bolas (8), mas tamb\u00e9m podemos multiplicar: 2 \u00d7 4 = 8. Se voc\u00ea sabe que 5 \u00d7 2 = 10, fica mais f\u00e1cil descobrir quanto \u00e9 5 \u00d7 4, porque \u00e9 s\u00f3 pensar: 5 \u00d7 2 = 10 e depois dobrar: 10 + 10 = 20. Quantos carrinhos Jo\u00e3o tem ao todo?\u201d Outras vezes, pode aparecer em um desenho de ret\u00e2ngulo, mostrando fileiras de objetos.
