A palavra POL\u00cdGONO deriva do grego e quer dizer <em>muitos<\/em> (<em>poly<\/em>) e <em>\u00e2ngulos<\/em> (<em>gon<\/em>).&nbsp;Nomeamos os pol\u00edgonos de acordo com a quantidade de lados que possuem: um pol\u00edgono de 3 lados \u00e9 chamado de tri\u00e2ngulo. O que tem 4 lados \u00e9 nomeado de quadril\u00e1tero. Com 5 lados ser\u00e1 o pent\u00e1gono e assim por diante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Os pol\u00edgonos s\u00e3o usados em diversas \u00e1reas, como na engenharia, na arquitetura, no design gr\u00e1fico e at\u00e9 no desenvolvimento de jogos.
