A taxa de crescimento negativo da popula\u00e7\u00e3o escravizada fez desenvolver o tr\u00e1fico de seres humanos que, ao longo de s\u00e9culos, tornou-se uma atividade altamente lucrativa. Calcula-se que, no Brasil, do s\u00e9culo XVI at\u00e9 o ano de 1850, tenha entrado um n\u00famero pr\u00f3ximo de 5 milh\u00f5es de africanos.
