S\u00e3o exemplos de textos multimodais: os infogr\u00e1ficos, os an\u00fancios, os cartuns, as propagandas, as tirinhas e as charges. S\u00e3o chamados de multimodais pois s\u00e3o textos que utilizam mais de uma modalidade de forma lingu\u00edstica sua composi\u00e7\u00e3o. Com o advento das novas tecnologias, o texto vem adquirindo cada vez mais novas configura\u00e7\u00f5es que possam atender as necessidades de seus falantes. Por essa raz\u00e3o as composi\u00e7\u00f5es textuais nunca estiveram t\u00e3o pr\u00f3ximas da imagem, uma vez que o imediatismo da informa\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 diretamente ligado \u00e0 imagem e suas linguagens. O texto multimodal tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 conhecido como texto multissemi\u00f3tico, pois faz o uso de semioses (produ\u00e7\u00e3o de significados) e sua compreens\u00e3o adequada do texto depende da identifica\u00e7\u00e3o dos efeitos de sentido produzidos pelo uso de recursos visuais associados ao texto verbal.
