Essa divis\u00e3o considera as varia\u00e7\u00f5es do relevo, levando em conta que alguns rios s\u00e3o respons\u00e1veis por drenar toda a \u00e1gua de uma determinada bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica.<br>Uma bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica \u00e9 uma \u00e1rea geogr\u00e1fica que engloba um rio principal juntamente com todos os seus afluentes, ribeir\u00f5es e c\u00f3rregos que contribuem para o seu fluxo de \u00e1gua. Essas bacias desempenham um papel crucial na vida de milh\u00f5es de brasileiros, que dependem dos rios para sobreviver.
