Fica entre a Europa, a \u00c1sia e a \u00c1frica. \u00c9 um lugar muito importante para a hist\u00f3ria. Essa regi\u00e3o assistiu ao desenvolvimento de imp\u00e9rios como o ass\u00edrio, o persa e o romano; o florescimento da civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o grega; a expans\u00e3o \u00e1rabe; a a\u00e7\u00e3o de fen\u00edcios, cretenses e maced\u00f4nios.
